Mission Statement:

A mission statement is a brief statement of purpose.  It describes where we are going as a church.  "Sanger Community Church exists to show off God’s Glory by helping people connect with each other, reaching out with the gospel and developing spiritually mature and equipped followers of Christ."

Values:

Values are the core characteristics that make up the fabric of our church and form the constant passion driving our efforts.

  • Worship: We value the true worship of the livng God above all else.  Since he is the ultimate reality we are committed to demonstrating our faith in him not only on Sundays, but as something we actively do throughout every day of the week.  It is our lifestyle to declare the worth of God as he has directed us to.

  • Scriptural Authority: We value the teaching of the Word of God, and recognize it as the only inerrant and infallible authority in matters of faith and life.  The Bible informs our minds, ignites our hearts, and shapes our imaginations, so we have a solid foundation for our convictions.

  • Discipleship: We value the process of transforming unbelievers into mature and devoted followers of Christ.  Our commitment to Christ demonstrates itself in a lifestyle of confidence in the finished work of Christ so that we are engage in a life of gradual personal transformation into the likeness of Christ.

  • Evangelism: We are a seeking church.  Just as God seeks those who will worship him in spirit and truth, so we too seek them by proclaiming the good news of the gospel from our homes to the ends of the earth.  We are motivated to share our faith and put it on display in our lives out of gratefulness and delight in Him.  We trust the work of the Holy Spirit to turn the hearts of people to trust in Christ.

  • Prayer: We value prayer and do not hesitate to boast in our weaknesses in a way that shows the all-surpassing power for all we do is from God and not from us.  Through prayer we know his will, express our trust, orient our hearts, and advance our intimacy, so that in vital ways prayer is the foundation upon which all of our ministries are built.

  • Service:  We value service to others as a means of showing our Christian love.  Service is at the heart of imitating Christ, who came not to be served but to serve.  He has given every believer spiritual gifts and talents for the building up of the body.  Every believer has the privilege and responsibility to use their spiritual gifts in service to others.

  • Fellowship: We value fellowship as an expression of the a new loving community created out of people who could not have gotten along without the healing power of the gospel.  We joyfully connect with people and encourage one another so that our faith is built up and express our confidence in the grace of God.

  • Godly Leadership: We value leaders that pursue and embrace the calling of God to serve the church in order to make the true gospel of Christ precious to themselves and others.  The lives of godly leaders habitually and tangibly reflect a passionate and vital devotion to Christ so that others are drawn to Christ, encouraged in spiritual growth and equipped to work out their own personal ministry.
